Peruvian Alpine Climbing Adventures

Itinerary Options

Steep snow couloirs, icy slopes, expansive glaciers—Peru offers an unparalleled array of climbing options.  After, landing in Lima, an 8-hour ride through colorful villages and mountain passes topping out at 15,000' bring us to the lively mountain town of Huaraz.  Acclimatization options are as plentiful as the excellent cuisine in Huaraz, allowing us to enjoy both before launching into the higher hills.  Porter and mule assistance allow us to fully enjoy our basecamp approaches, with packs in the 20lb range.  That assistance also makes basecamp living relatively luxurious, with fresh-cooked breakfasts and 3-course dinners.  From there, fresh and well-fed, depending on the objective, we either move to a high camp or head out directly for the summits.

Our Peru Alpine Climbing Adventures are custom-designed trips, developed in collaboration with you, based on your climbing background, adventure aspirations, timeline, and travel budget. Take a look at some sample destinations and itineraries:

When checking out other Peruvian climbing programs and count up the “program days” versus the actual climbing days. You'll see that several of those “program days” are travel to and from the US to Lima to Huaraz (the launch town).  The itineraries we propose are the actual in-country expedition days.

After reviewing these destinations and itineraries, connect with us to discuss your particular goals, timeline, and budget, and we'll work together to develop the optimal Peru plan.
